Just bought #EdMastery by @mwlucas as ebook only because I cannot currently buy a hardcopy direct from the author

@saper Thanks! Hope it helps.

Direct sales of print books is a no-go for me right now, sorry. 😟

@mwlucas I fully understand that! Will consider selling my soul to Amazon to get your piece!

Or let me know when you have a roadshow in Europe - EuroBSDCon, maybe?

Michael W Lucas @mwlucas

@saper No for me this year.

is distributed globally through Ingram's so any bookstore can order print for you. Even your corner mom & pop place. That's why I bought my own ISBNs, to enable exactly this.

@mwlucas my small local store offers only "CSS Mastery" when searching on their website (and that's obviously some large catalog from a content provider).

But large network bookstores have it on offer, with few day delivery option.

@saper Odd. Most of the world offers Ingram's to everyone. I bet they could special order if you walked in, but that would be too much like work.

@mwlucas let's try :)

by the way

even with very creative editing of the Appendix A (extracted from EPUB), I can't arrive at 963 bytes!

Currently I have 975 and can't seem to reduce it more

@saper Huh. I bet there's whitespace somewhere.

Or, might ed count inodes? Hmmm...

@mwlucas

I removed trailing spaces (EPUB has them), converted — to -- as seen in your text;

Added two spaces in front of every second verse. What else?

wc -c and ed seem to agree. There are UTF-8 quotes.

@saper Ah, I used plain ASCII. That's probably it.

Also, I formatted it to look better in the epub & print.

@mwlucas got it:

> ed jabberwocky
963

No trailing spaces, unicode converted to ` " --

Two spaces before every second verse.

I don't even know why am I doing this

@saper You're doing it because a REAL computer nerd doesn't rest until the stupid problem is solved.

@mwlucas

I have used a backtick instead of a tick:
