So apparently, if Google indexes a site, then that site disappears (DNS gone, etc).. Google keeps it indexed, forever.
This is deeply deeply flawed.
@Wolf480pl how is that supposed to work if the domain doesn't exist in DNS?
@pertho I mean, if you respond with 410 _before_ disappearing.
If a domain disappears from DNS that's either because someone forgot to pay, or because they're getting censored. In both cases, I'd rather have the content archived.
@shadowfacts Yeah I think there is something in place but the Google Webmasters page only gives you the option to "Temporarily Hide" which is stupid if you want it removed
