So apparently, if Google indexes a site, then that site disappears (DNS gone, etc).. Google keeps it indexed, forever.

This is deeply deeply flawed.

@pertho I mean, if you respond with 410 _before_ disappearing.

If a domain disappears from DNS that's either because someone forgot to pay, or because they're getting censored. In both cases, I'd rather have the content archived.

@pertho Does GDPR and the right to erasure affect that? Eg. can a site admin demand that Google erase everything it knows about you/your site?

@shadowfacts Yeah I think there is something in place but the Google Webmasters page only gives you the option to "Temporarily Hide" which is stupid if you want it removed
