#EuroBSDCon presentation deadline is coming up on Sunday! Do you do cool stuff with #OpenBSD, #FreeBSD, #NetBSD (or any #BSD)? PS, yes you do. You should submit an abstract for a 45 minute presentation, and give a talk.
Travel, hotel, and entry will be covered for selected speakers!
@Keltounet @phessler Oh, darn. I'll probably have to sit this one out, though I _really_ want to go.
@lattera that is something you'll have to discuss with the organizers.
I'm only a friendly person that wants more non-usual-suspects to speak at *bsd cons.
I'd *love* to see more non-usual-suspects give talks at *BSD conferences.
Sure, the usual-suspects do stuff, but SO DO YOU! And we don't already know what you do!
And of course, you *are* cool enough to do this.
@phessler
First Allan and Benedict, now you? Guess I'll have to pick a thing and see if they want me to talk about it now.
@phessler Is there a TSA-style list of "usual suspects"?
@kristapsdz me, henning, and everyone that presents at all of them
@phessler That Henning is on yet another list is no surprise to me... my talk's submitted! #eurobsdcon
@kristapsdz @phessler Sounds like a business plan: tsastylelist.com, a micro API for managing lists of "usual suspects". #kcgi
@phessler maybe next year, too busy this year
@grubernaut @phessler I'll never ever be cool enough ...
@basepr1me @grubernaut yes. Yes you are.
@phessler @grubernaut BAHAHAHAHA! That actually made me belly laugh outloud!
@phessler how many talks do I need to give to become a usual suspect?
@nixfreak selected meaning all 30ish talks that are for 45 minutes.
@phessler To clarify, my understanding is it is "for the selected speakers". Leaving out "the" makes it sound like only some of the speakers get covered.
(I just figure someone in the "I'm not worthy" camp would assume their travel wouldn't be covered).
Oups, to clarify, _all_ accepted speakers get travel, hotel, and entry covered. Not just keynote or "special" people.
@phessler All speakers are special people :)
EuroBSDCon is cool. You--yes, you, the one reading these words--should submit a talk. @phessler
@phessler So here's a question: if my employer would pay for my travel, would the conference cover the travel expenses for my spouse should I be selected for speaking?
