I really tire of /bin/sh being bash. Bash's "compatibility" mode doesn't seem to actually be compatible with the sh on BSD.

My house is essentially all packed up. There is still work to be done and obviously some stuff is still out. Gots to work from this house for a couple more days, obviously. But this is pretty much it.

I'd *love* to see more non-usual-suspects give talks at *BSD conferences.

Sure, the usual-suspects do stuff, but SO DO YOU! And we don't already know what you do!

And of course, you *are* cool enough to do this.

My life is swirling sewage-laden toilet bowl right now, but the world needs an article on OpenBSD "breaking embargos."

If other people find the sources, I'll take an hour and hammer them into a post.

Post original mailing list and article links in answer to this toot. Or don't. Whatevs.

I'll credit folks, of course.

My bias on this: there were fubars, like the 8 out of 10 OpenSSL bug. They'll argue against embargos over beer, but if they agree to it they'll keep it.

No, *you* are listening to Soul Coughing at 120db with a bottle of vodka in your hand.

I once said that a great way to gauge my level of depression or mental fucked-up-itude is to ask what music I want to listen to right now. If i don't have an answer or kinda freak out about it, it's a bad fucking time.

Another great way is to ask "So, on a scale of dubstep to, say, Cobain, Vedder, and Cornell playing pool at an Alice In Chains show, how much do you miss the 90s right now?" A good follow-on is "just how fucking drunk *are* you right now?"

so far I have not found the science

The question of "what do you do when no interstate movers are willing to service your area" is growing in relevance.

Huh. Apparently the wheels are still turning on a badly written and terrible software patent that has my name on it. (I didn't know about the patent until it was already submitted.)

I kinda figured they'd have stopped the process after telling me all my ideas and projects were stupid and then laying me off.

This di.fm channel claims to be a soundtrack for when you want to drift off to sleep. This track, however, has a strong bass line. I feel like maybe the playlist curator and I drift off to sleep differently.

Huh. Cleared the stored website data for bsd dot network and all is well again. magnets, how do they work

Wonder why Safari really doesn't want to show the images in my timeline.

If I held against you things that you did 18 years ago, you'd think I was kinda silly at best, a complete asshole at worst.

FOSS folks: when looking to verify the checksum of a release binary, do you want an "app.sha256" file for each released binary or are you ok with a "CHECKSUM" file that contains all released binaries?

On June 19, we likely have another major influx of Twitter refugees. apps-of-a-feather.com/

This time, can you all try to not be intolerant shits to the newbies? You all tend to get shitty and embarrassing whenever this happens.

I'd forgotten how hungry I get when stressed like this. Just another month or two to go

The reason is because the mortgage for my current house came from a local bank who intends to service the loan for its entire lifetime. The new house is getting a mortgage from people who will sell it instantly and cash out. So they need enough info to convince the next lender to buy it and package it.

Oh. And Congress just rolled back a bunch of Dodd-Frank.

Buying this new house is way more paperwork and bullshit than my current house was.

Gulp. We have a settlement date for the house. All going well, I'll be going into July as the "owner" of my new house.
